AI Engine vs WPVibe
Self-hosted, or through someone else's cloud?
WPVibe (listed on wp.org as Vibe AI) is a well-made MCP server by Awesome Motive, with thoughtful safety UX: dry-run previews, approval gates, and an audit log. The difference between us is architectural, and it matters.
AI Engine: direct
Your MCP client connects straight to your WordPress. Auth happens on your server with OAuth 2.1 or a bearer token. No third party sees your traffic, your content, or your credentials.
WPVibe: relayed
A thin plugin sends your WordPress Application Password to their Cloudflare servers, and all AI traffic flows from your client, through their cloud, to your site. It works, but a third party sits in the middle, and your credential lives on their infrastructure.
WPVibe ยท Cloud relay
Your traffic goes through their servers
A third party sits in the middle, and your site password lives on their cloud.
every request passes through a company you do not control

What "free" means
WPVibe's free tier has daily caps, and its early reviews reflect user surprise when those caps appeared. AI Engine's MCP server is free with no usage caps and no metering: your site, your keys, your traffic. Pro adds more tools (WooCommerce, Polylang, plugin and theme management), not a meter.
Keep your credentials on your site.
AI Engine connects your AI directly to WordPress. No relay, no caps, free on wp.org.
